Looking at Caterpillars

As you may know, our mascot for our preschool is butterflies. Our 3 year old class is the caterpillars, and they go into the pre-k class to graduate from our school as beautiful butterflies. So every spring our preschool orders caterpillars so we can learn the life-cycle of a butterfly to be released at the end of the graduation ceremony. We watch them grow from tiny caterpillars to big, fat caterpillars making chrystilits, to butterflies being released back into the world. It's really a special event for the kids and a great way to see God's design for our world.

I love how you use actual caterpillars to teach preschool kids about a butterfly's life cycle. It also helps them understand patience. Hopefully, there is a preschool like this near my town.
